#inktober2018 Unfinished Business

Updated: Jan 10, 2020

I accidentally opened up my sketchbook today while going through my backpack and realized that I had only done 28 drawings for Inktober 2018. I remember exactly why I didn't finish last year's drawing challenge; it was due to a crazy, busy schedule. With two weddings to DJ for, a creative project , as well as having caught up with a cold flu (which I documented in 3 drawings) all within the month of October; I didn't have time to sit down to go through the creative process of pinpointing ideas and commit to them. However, I'm posting this as a reminder for myself and will try to play catch up as best as I can. If you're interested, you can see all 28 sketches uploaded to my Illustrations page.

Below is my favorite drawing from that challenge thus far. This was a Roaring Cat Games collaboration. Barry and I were sitting at Warp Zone (our shared-studio space) at the time and we decided to do something a little different. We wanted to combine two drawing panels to make one picture/story. He drew a curious, giant fox with 3 tails, while I sketched out an ogre who's not welcoming any guest near his domain. They are both giving each other the looks of battle prep. Take notice of how background matches up nicely between two different sketchbooks. Neat!
